------
Lay lines and ancient fines. Tyler Messick is a songwriter originally from a small town just West of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He now lives and performs in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia. Collaboration is a key component of Messick’s sound. His recordings capture time spent with friends often in live, “off-the-floor” takes. Tyler’s ambition is to continue a lineage of artists who amplify the curiosity and wonderment in regards to our mutual existence. Museum pieces are encapsulations of myriad historical forces into a single diamond-like form. Waveforms of sound vibrate in a way that is still unfathomable to the populace. Sound is the bedrock of existence. In some traditions, our understanding of the universe began with a sound. Messick believes in Indigenous leadership and lends his support to all Water Protectors.
